The Jewish man, whose family was subjected to an anti-Semitic verbal attack on a London Underground train, said he wanted to meet the Muslim woman who stood up for their defense.

The father, who has not been named yet, said he was "very grateful" for the intervention of Shuwaikh.

Without this intervention, he said, the assault could have escalated into physical violence.

The Jewish family was heading Friday morning from north London to the Covent Garden neighborhood in the east of the center of the capital, when faced with what happened.

One of the passengers was able to photograph a man reading two children on the train wearing a Jewish headdress, parts of the Bible, which he interpreted as anti-Jewish. Police said they arrested the man.

Asma, who was praised by the man in the video, said she would "not hesitate to do what she did again," adding that she would have liked to intervene.

The father of the children said: "We are very grateful for the intervention of the Muslim woman who was wearing a veil, and we now know that she is called Asma."

He added: "We are sure that the man could have continued to attack him, and to develop into physical violence, without the intervention."

“This metro journey left myself with mixed feelings about society.

Asma, a mother of two, said that "if she were in the same situation, she would have wanted to help anyone."

"To be honest, I thought that my duty as a mother, as a committed Muslim, and as a citizen of this country, I had to say something."

Chris Atkins, the passenger who recorded the incident, described Asma as firm and determined.

He said: "It is amazing nowadays, and in our time, where we know the intolerance of all, and the hatred of every religion for others, to find a Muslim woman to defend some Jewish children."
